Gedde Watanabe

Gedde Watanabe is the stage name of Gary Watanabe, a Japanese-American actor born in Utah. He played Hiroshi on Sesame Street from 1988 until 1991.

He is perhaps best known for playing Long Duk Dong in the teen film Sixteen Candles. Other credits included UHF (with "Weird Al" Yankovic, as Kuni), Gung Ho (directed by Ron Howard), Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, EdTV, and the 2004 version of Alfie. TV work has included guest spots on Seinfeld, ER, and Everwood, and he has appeared on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures. Voice over work includes The Simpsons, Batman Beyond, and Disney's Mulan.

He appeared in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which featured a puppet show sequence built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop.
