"Go To Sleep, Little Children" is a lullaby that Big Bird first sang in the 1996 PBS pledge drive special Kathie Lee Gifford's Lullabies for Little Ones. The song was written by Caroll Spinney's father- and mother-in-law, Gene and Lorraine Gilroy, the parents of Spinney's wife Debi.
At the Sesame Street Season 30 wrap party, Big Bird performed the song live, with Gene Gilroy at the piano. Video of this performance appeared as a bonus feature on the DVD release of I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story.
Big Bird sang the song again (syncing to a recording with Caroll Spinney's vocals) at Spinney's memorial service held in February 2020.
