"God Bless America" is a musical prayer extolling a patriotic devotion to The United States of America. It was written by Irving Berlin during World War I and revised by the composer in the years leading up to World War II.
The Sesame Street Muppets joined a chorus of performers to sing the song at the 2019 broadcast of A Capitol Fourth. In addition to the Muppets, the performers included John Stamos, Laura Osnes, Colbie Caillat, Angelica Hale, Lindsey Stirling, Laine Hardy, and others.
The song is heard briefly on Sesame Street in Episode 0114 when a kid named Carlos approaches Don McLean whistling to the tune on the stoop, and again in the "Pigoletto" portion of The Muppet Show episode 409 as sung by the pigs.
