Gong is a German weekly magazine published by media conglomerate Funke Mediengruppe, providing TV listings and articles about the entertainment industry, similar to TV Guide, since 1948. Throughout the 1980s, the publication heavily featured articles and images for the Henson productions of that time.
A December 1, 1979 issue featured Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear on the cover, with the headline "Die Muppets β wer steckt dahinter?" ("The Muppets: Who is behind it?")
In the late 1980s, an issue of the magazine announced a raffle for its readers to win a trip to London, to visit Jim Henson's Creature Shop and meet Jim Henson. A later issue revealed the winning family, and featured an article about their time at the Workshop, as well as the family's lament to not have been able to meet Miss Piggy during the trip.
In 1992, issue number 53 focused on the 20th anniversary of the German co-production Sesamstrasse, and featured Kermit the Frog on the cover, as well as Questor's Sesame Street puppets of Bert and Ernie behind him, proclaiming "You guys haven't changed a bit!"
