Grandma Nell is the grandmother of Gabrielle and Tamir on Sesame Street, introduced in Season 53.
Grandma Nell was first depicted in Tamir's animated memory in Episode 5304, before making her debut as an actual Muppet in Episode 5314 (focusing on the photo album Gabrielle makes for her). According to Episode 5333, her own grandfather was Grandpa ZZ. As demonstrated in Episode 5504, she is a proficient piano player.
She features prominently in the animated "Sesame Street Nature Explorers" segment introduced in Season 54.
Nell's voice and outfit are based on Jimmica Collins' aunt.[1]
