Granny Monster is the grandmother of Telly Monster, as seen in Episode 1942 of Sesame Street.
She sends her grandson a letter notifying him of her upcoming trip to Mexico and how she wants him to tag along. At the end of the episode, Telly meets up with her at the appointed time. However, she reveals the trip isn't happening for six years; she merely did this as an exercise to see if they could both be at the same place on time. She claims that she will do this once a week until the trip occurs. Susan comments that she sees where Telly's worrying comes from.
The puppet (sans glasses) was later seen in the background during Follow That Bird.
