"Great Balls of Fire" was originally recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis in 1957. It was reused as the title for Lewis' 1989 film biography, which starred Dennis Quaid. Quaid performed the song with Pepe and Seymour in episode 207 of Muppets Tonight.
Dr. Teeth performed the song during the Walt Disney World live show Muppets on Location: Days of Swine and Roses.
The song was also parodied on Sesame Street as "Eight Balls of Fur."
