Hallmark also teamed with The Jim Henson Company for the launch of The Kermit Channel in 1998, as well as the relaunch of The Odyssey Channel in 1999, in which both companies had purchased stakes.


In 1994, Hallmark Cards purchased RHI Entertainment from Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr., renaming it Hallmark Entertainment. In 2006, Hallmark resold it to the Halmis, who revived the RHI name. In 2012, RHI adopted its current name, Sonar Entertainment.
