Hannaford Supermarkets partnered with Sesame Street's Healthy Habits for Life initiative in 2007 to encourage healthy snacking.
Also partnering with Stemilt Growers Inc., producers and packers of Washington state apples, the grocery store chain features a different monthly apple variety, paired with a character from Sesame Street and a fun message about apples. The promotional program is set to run from January until June, 2007.
The Sesame Street "Apple of the Month Program" encourages apple-eaters to collect stickers from each apple variety and place them on a special activity sheet.

Hannaford also locally underwrote Sesame Street on Maine Public Broadcasting Network for the most of the 1980s and 1990s, back when it was known as Shop 'n Save.
