Harvey Fierstein (b. 1954) is a character actor and playwright who became famous in the early '80s for his Tony Award winning & semi-autobiographical play, Torch Song Trilogy. As an out gay performer, Fierstein has often played gay (or drag) roles, including Robin Williams' brother in Mrs. Doubtfire, Homer Simpson's assistant on The Simpsons, and his Tony-winning role as Edna Turnblad in the Broadway musical Hairspray.
