Helen Mirren (b. 1945) is a British actress acclaimed for her dramatic portrayals in stage, television, and film, including Inspector Jane Tennison in the series Prime Suspect (seen on PBS as part of both Masterpiece Theater and Mystery!) Mirren has been twice nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, as the patient Queen Charlotte in 1995's The Madness of King George and the efficient, stony housekeeper Mrs. Wilson in Gosford Park (2001), which used digital effects supplied by Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

The actress subsequently lent her voice to two Creature Shop projects, as Macheeba in Pride and the computer Deep Thought in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In 2003, Mirren was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire.

In 2006, Mirren appeared in Best Ever Muppet Moments.
