Herbie the Love Bug

Herbie the Love Bug is a Walt Disney Company film franchise launched in 1968 with the release of The Love Bug about a sentient 1963 Volkswagen Beetle who becomes a racing car. The film spawned three sequels, Herbie Rides Again (1974), Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977), and Herbie Goes Bananas (1980), as well as a short-lived 1982 TV series, 1997 TV remake, and 2005's Herbie: Fully Loaded.

• Beginning in 2016, a poster at the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction spoofed the franchise as "Herbie Goes Unhinged" with Walter, Gonzo, and Animal. Herbie himself appeared on the poster, with his usual race number 53.
