Hoggie and Alpert introduce the audience to "Piggy" | |
PERFORMER | Jim Henson |
DEBUT | 1974 |
Hoggie Marsh was a talent agent for Miss Piggy.
The character, then named "Hamilton Pig," lip-synced "That Old Black Magic" with Piggy (herself then known as "Piggy Lee") on a May 24, 1974 appearance on The Tonight Show. Five months later, the re-christened Marsh introduced Piggy to Herb Alpert (and the audience) in the 1974 special Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.
He appeared again in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, where he was performed by Richard Hunt (unlike his prior two appearances, where Jim Henson performed him).
