A large-scale hand puppet of Hoots the Owl was created for Sesame Street Live. At Sesame Place, the puppet was used in the Rock Around the Block Parade from 1997 to 2009. The puppet was performed to a vocal track by Kevin Clash.
A redesigned Hoots stage puppet appeared in 2012's Can't Stop Singing, reflecting his more modern appearance. Another updated puppet will feature at Sesame Place for a special meet and greet event during the park's "Furry Friends Weekend" from November 8-9, 2025.
