"How Lovely to Be a Woman" was performed in the first act of the musical Bye Bye Birdie, as teenage Kim McAfee expresses the joys of entering her physical and sexual maturity as a woman.
Earl Sinclair sings a rather ironic version of it, as mandated by B.P. Richfield in "And the Winner Is...," to announce his candidacy for Chief Elder. The Sinclair family is aghast, but Earl defensively points out that the part was written for a mezzo-soprano.
This is the second song from Bye Bye Birdie to be performed on Dinosaurs, the first being "A Lot of Livin' to Do" in the episode "Family Challenge."
