Huey, Dewey and Louie, the nephews of Donald Duck, were created by Disney comic strip artists Ted Osborne and Al Taliaferro, and subsequently used in the animated shorts.
The nephews are prominent cast members in Disney comic book stories, which have been produced around the world since the 1940s. In the stories by writer and artist Carl Barks, the nephews developed from mischievous pests into intelligent, adventurous young boys who are fiercely devoted to their scout troop, the Junior Woodchucks.
The trio were voiced by Russi Taylor on the television series DuckTales and appeared in the 1990 animated television special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, along with Baby Kermit, Baby Piggy, and Baby Gonzo.
