DEBUT | 2018 |
A Hug-a-Saurus appears in the Muppet Babies episode "Piggy's Time Machine."
When the babies end up in dinosaur days, they encounter what Baby Gonzo terms a "Hug-a-Saurus Rex." The giant cheerful beast only wants to give hugs. Summer thinks he's cute, but Gonzo warns that once the Hug-a-Saurus hugs you, he'll never let go. (Summer still wants to take him home).
Gonzo briefly turns Summer into the Hug-a-Saurus in the episode "A Backyard Divided." He also makes brief, silent appearances on the Playroom's scribble screen during Miss Nanny's song in "Kermit's Big Show," and in "My Brother Vinny," and he is featured on a library book cover in "Library Leapfrog."
In the second season episode "When You Wish Upon a Rizzo," the imaginary Mega Super Ultra Robo Space Dinosaur takes on the Hug-a-Saurus' persona, menacingly soliciting hugs from the kids.
