Hugh Webster (1927-1986) was a Scottish-born actor, known primarily for his work in Canada, who played Arnie the maintenance man in The Cube. Webster migrated from Scotland to Canada in 1948, and after a variety of itinerant jobs, from bellhop to dumptruck driver, he entered the field of acting. A Shakespearean character player, he was a frequent performer at the Stratford Festival of Canada, receiving critical acclaim for his portrayal of the Fool in the 1964 production of King Lear.
In films, Webster appeared in the Disney animal movies King of the Grizzlies and Never Cry Wolf. Television work included spots on such American and Canadian series as The Defenders, The Forest Rangers, The Littlest Hobo, and an insert on The Electric Company, as a vaudevillian.
