Merry approaches Maria at the Fix-It Shop and asks if she can sing a song she's written about quiet and loud. Maria permits her to sing and Merry starts singing about being very quiet. Her song becomes a boisterous racket as she sings about being loud. With the song over, Merry gives a quiet goodbye, then startles Maria (and breaks her toaster) with a loud one.
