"I Wanna Help"[1] is a song from the 1970 special The Great Santa Claus Switch.
Fred, the youngest and newest member of Santa Claus' team of elves, is very eager to please his new boss on his first Christmas at the workshop. He begins to sing about his unwavering support for Santa and desire to help in any way he can. The song begins to pick up in tempo, as Fred emphatically cries "Call on Fred!" at the mere thought of potential disasters where he can swoop in and save the day. He gets so wrapped up in his own heroic anthem that he ironically fails to notice Thig and Thog sneaking into the workshop and removing Santa from the premises.
