I Want to Be a Ballet Dancer is a 1993 Sesame Street storybook.
Prairie Dawn tells the reader all about how she'd like to be a ballet dancer. She takes lessons every Tuesday and Thursday at a dance school taught by Miss Natalia. Other members of the class include Roxie Marie, Bert, Ernie, Herry Monster, Betty Lou, Grover, and Elmo.
After learning pirouettes, changements, leaps, and reverence in class, Prairie and Herry attend a professional ballet performance featuring Miss Natalia and her dance company. After the show, they visit their teacher backstage, who gifts a pair of signed ballet slippers to Prairie.
