O'Shea Jackson (b. 1969), better known as Ice Cube, is an American hip hop artist, producer, director and actor. Known for his rhythmic and controversial lyrics, Ice Cube's early albums contributed to the rising mainstream popularity of gangsta rap. In film, he had a starring role in Boyz n the Hood (with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Laurence Fishburne) before pursuing writing and directing.
His 1991 song "A Bird in the Hand" contains a sample from the Sesame Street track "Big Bird Writes a Poem."
Ice Cube went on to guest star in Sesame Street season 45, appearing in a Word of the Day segment with Elmo to demonstrate "astounding." At one point, Cube magically turns himself into a literal Muppetized ice cube.
In 2016, Ice Cube was photographed with Elmo, Rosita, and Abby Cadabby at the SiriusXM Studios.
