"Important" is a Sesame Street song performed by Gilbert and Sullivan in Episode 2336. The two sing the song to Elmo to help him remember the definition of the word "important."
Unlike their other musical numbers involving much of the human cast, this song only has one cutaway verse from Big Bird in the Fix-It Shop, singing about how it's important to help someone in a hard situation (as he is supporting a broken shelf all by himself). The song is also unique in that it is the only song by the duo that is not prompted by a comment or question from Oscar the Grouch.
