IslandHeads
DEBUT 1996

The Island Heads are a group of talking Easter Island-style stone sculptures which appear in Muppet Treasure Island. The heads, which resemble pigs, are scattered around Treasure Island, and are featured most prominently performing "Shiver My Timbers" in the opening.

In the film's epilogue, one of the heads (performed by Jerry Nelson) cracks jokes to a marooned Long John Silver that goes "Why does the ocean roar? Give up? You would too if you had crabs on your bottom and oysters in your bed."

One of the island heads is part of the Center for Puppetry Arts collection and was on display during 2020.
