Synopsis[]

Grover wakes up one morning, ready to start the perfect day. After he brushes his teeth and plays a "Groove Tunes" record, he ventures out to Sesame Street to greet his friends. He first encounters Big Bird who, despite Grover's assumption, is not building abstract art, but struggling with the instructions to build a wooden book shelf.

He moves along to Oscar's trash can where he learns from Slimey that Oscar the Grouch is having trouble coming up with clues for Slimey's birthday scavenger hunt. Next, he finds Count von Count in the park, struggling to count leaves high up in a tree, followed by Elmo trying to decide on ice cream flavors.

After passing Sherlock Hemlock trying to find out who ate his sardine sundae and Cookie Monster trying to remember Telly Monster's favorite song, it occurs to Grover that he can't enjoy this perfect day while his friends are experiencing their own troubles. He then witnesses the Two-Headed Monster slapping together a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which gives him an idea.

He gathers his friends in the yard and announces that he's going to solve all their problems by teaming everyone up to put their heads together...

Big Bird helps the Count reach the leaves high on the tree, while the Count counts out the steps in Big Bird's shelf instructions. Elmo performs "many" songs for Cookie Monster to help him remember Telly's favorite song, and in return, Cookie Monster calculates a solution to Elmo's problem of pairing which ice cream flavor would go with cookies: cookie dough ice cream. Next, Grover enlists Oscar's expertise with sardine sundaes to deduce that Watson ate Sherlock's treat. Sherlock thanks him by helping Oscar write some clues for Slimey's birthday scavenger hunt.

Grover walks through the neighborhood proud of the work he's done. Big Bird reminds him that "it's always a beautiful day when we've got a friend like you to spend it with!"
