"It's Pouring" is a song performed by Richie Havens and his band on Sesame Street.
The song is about protecting children from the troubles of the world.
Havens's performance follows the lyrics provided in the script with some variations. One section is omitted completely in favor of a repeating chorus of "teach the children" which replaces "Help the dream come true that makes everybody equal, and we'll have a better world to share."
Toward the end of the song, the band begins to riff, incorporating elements of "Frère Jacques" into the instrumental ending.
