J. D. Smith

J. D. Smith (also credited as J. Daniel Smith and Dan Smith) is a Canadian scriptwriter who wrote for Dog City and became story editor after the first season.

Smith began his career at Nelvana as an animator, working on Strawberry Shortcake specials, the feature Rock & Rule, and Care Bears movies (as animation director on the second one). He was also a storyboard artist for the first season of Inspector Gadget. He moved up to writing on Care Bears, Babar (movie and series), Beetlejuice, Sam and Max: Freelance Police, Rupert, and others. Outside of Nelvana, Smith wrote for The Mask, Chop Socky Chooks, and Packages from Planet X.
