J. J. Abrams (b. 1966) is a Hollywood writer, producer, and director known for developing such television properties as Felicity, Alias, Lost, and Fringe.
In 2017, Abrams attempted to partake in what was meant to be a stunt performed by Gonzo during Michael Giacchino at 50, a concert celebrating Michael Giacchino's 50th birthday. Abrams and Giacchino (who have often collaborated) were to have thrown Gonzo into a cow as a tribute to Giacchino. Pixar's Pete Docter arrived with the cow (hidden backstage), but even with the help of Abrams tugging on its leash, couldn't manage to maneuver the bovine participant to cooperate in the act. Eventually, the cow was revealed to be a live poodle, and Gonzo cancelled his act.
Abrams's directorial film credits include two Star Trek movies, two Star Wars movies, Mission: Impossible III, and Super 8 (with Elle Fanning and Bruce Greenwood), and he has written Taking Care of Business (with Charles Grodin), Regarding Henry (with Annette Bening), Forever Young (with Mel Gibson), and Armageddon (with Bruce Willis and Michael Clarke Duncan).
