Jamal is a park ranger on Sesame Street who was introduced when the show expanded "Around the Corner" in Season 25. His wife was Angela, who ran the Day Care Center, and they had a baby, Kayla.

Jamal appeared on the show from 1993 to 1995. He also appeared in the specials Sesame Street Jam: A Musical Celebration and Sesame Street Stays Up Late.
