James Coco and Nurse Piggy

James Coco (1930-1987) was an actor, primarily in comedy roles and often on stage. He was the guest star on The Muppet Show episode 312 and later played Mr. Skeffington in The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Coco starred in Neil Simon's stage play Last of the Red Hot Lovers and was part of the all-star casts in the Simon scripted film spoofs Murder by Death (as an ersatz Hercule Poirot, with Peter Falk and James Cromwell) and The Cheap Detective (with Falk again, Dom DeLuise, and Madeline Kahn). He played Sancho Panza in the film of Man of La Mancha and co-starred with Raquel Welch in The Wild Party. TV included The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote, Reading Rainbow, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, and St. Elsewhere (winning an Emmy Award for his guest role).
