James McAvoy (b. 1979) is a Scottish actor best known for playing Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies.
He appeared in the 2003 adaptation of Children of Dune supported by make-up effects from Jim Henson's Creature Shop, and he made a cameo appearance in Muppets Most Wanted as a UPS delivery person.
He has also appeared in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Wanted (with Morgan Freeman), The Last King of Scotland (with Forest Whitaker), Becoming Jane (with Anne Hathaway), and provided the voice of Gnomeo in Gnomeo & Juliet (with Emily Blunt, Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, & Ozzy Osbourne).
