James Monroe Iglehart (b. 1974) is an American stage actor known for his performance as the Genie in the Broadway musical Aladdin (for which he won a Tony for Best Featured Actor) in 2014. He left Aladdin in February 2017 to join the cast of Hamilton as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in April 2017.
On September 12, 2014, he appeared on the set of Sesame Street and sang "Another Good Morning Here on Sesame Street" with the cast during their appearance on Good Morning America. He provided singing vocals for the Sesame Street song "My Beautiful Skin." Iglehart subsequently voiced a Muppet bowl of cereal in a "Food Rap Battle" video. (YouTube) He wrote lyrics for the song "Here's What We Can Do" for the special The Power of We. He later appeared as a guest in the second season of The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo.
For Sesame Workshop, Iglehart performed the song "Silent E" on the 2009 revival of The Electric Company.
