James Monroe Iglehart as the Genie in Aladdin.

James Monroe Iglehart (b. 1974) is an American stage actor well known for his performance as the Genie in the Broadway musical Aladdin (for which he won a Tony for Best Featured Actor) in 2014. He left Aladdin in February 2017 to join the cast of Hamilton as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in April 2017.

On September 12, 2014, he appeared on the set of Sesame Street and sang "Another Good Morning Here on Sesame Street" with the cast during their appearance on Good Morning America. Iglehart also provided singing vocals for the Sesame Street song "My Beautiful Skin." Iglehart provided the voice of a bowl of cereal in an "Elmo's Food Rap Battle" video. (YouTube)

Iglehart also performed the song "Silent E" on the 2009 revival of The Electric Company.
