James Taylor (b. 1948) is a folk singer who has appeared on Sesame Street during season 14. He sang "That Grouchy Face" (reworking his own "Your Smiling Face) and "Up on the Roof." He wrote and performed "Jellyman Kelly" specifically for Sesame Street, with lyrics by wife Carly Simon and daughter Sally Taylor on backup.
Taylor contributed a "Baked Bluefish Fillets" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.
He also guest starred in The Ghost of Faffner Hall episode "Notation: The Sign That Gets the Sound".
His brother is Livingston Taylor, also a singer/songwriter.
