Jane O'Connor was an early member of the Children's Television Workshop staff, a teacher who served as curriculum specialist in the production department. She was also one of only two African American staff members at the time, and the only one involved in the earliest planning stages.[1] She appears in the Sesame Street Pitch Reel. On Sesame Street itself, O'Connor was credited during the first season as "special assistant."
O'Connor served as editor-in-chief on Sesame Street Magazine from its inception in 1970 until 1973, at which point she became curriculum editor. O'Connor left the magazine in the spring of 1974.
