"Jarabe Tapatío" is the national dance of Mexico. Often played by a mariachi band, it is sometimes combined with "La Raspa" for a Mexican hat dance.

A performance of "America" from West Side Story by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in episode 317 of The Muppet Show turns into a medley of international tunes when a trumpeter enters the scene and plays a few bars of "Jarabe Tapatío" (immediately followed by some pigs playing "La Raspa" on stringed instruments).
On Sesame Street, the song was performed by a mariachi band at Antonio's birthday party in Episode 0333.
