Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875) was a French sculptor and painter.

- Carpeaux's sculpture Ugolino and His Sons was featured in the opening credits of the Sesame Street special, Don't Eat the Pictures. On display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Telly Monster observes the statue and remarks, "Some days I feel just like that," before posing in angst akin to Count Ugolino della Gherardesca in the piece.
