Jesse is Elmo's cousin. She is the daughter of Jack and Jill. Her Uncle Louie helps her cope with the death of her dad in the special When Families Grieve.
When the family reconvenes for a picnic in the park, Jesse is unwilling to talk about Jack's passing when it comes up in conversation. Jill is worried about her daughter's silence on the matter, so Uncle Louie suggests that he might be able to talk to her. Later, Louie sits with Jesse under a tree and helps her to open up by sharing some of his own feelings regarding the loss.
