Prior to production of The Muppet Movie, director James Frawley shot a series of short camera tests in the English countryside featuring Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Sweetums, and Miss Piggy, to determine how the Muppets would appear when filmed in real-life locations.

The camera tests appeared on Columbia TriStar's 2001 DVD release of The Muppet Movie, and were screened for an audience at MuppetFest. An extended, restored cut of the camera tests is featured on Disney's 2013 Blu-ray release of the film.
