Jim Thurman, sometimes credited as James Thurman, is a writer and voice actor who served a lengthy stint on Sesame Street, working in both capacities. Thurman, with his writing partner Gene Moss, scripted the 1960s cartoon series Roger Ramjet as well as the puppet comedy series Shrimpenstein. Beginning in the 1970s, Thurman joined the staff of Sesame Street, scripting both street/Muppet scenes and many animated sketches and supplying the voices for such characters as Teeny Little Superguy, Christopher Clumsy, various Cliff Roberts characters, and Jake the Snake. He also worked on several related specials, and served a brief stint on The Muppet Show during the fourth season. Though no longer a staff writer for Sesame Street, Thurman has still been heard occasionally on the series, and for the Old School Volume 1 DVD set, he wrote wrapararound material and voiced Bob.
