Joan Baez (b. 1941) is a folk singer and songwriter known for her distinctive vocal style as well as her outspoken activism and political views.
She was the guest star on episode 503 of The Muppet Show and sang her own song "Honest Lullaby." She also performed at Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday celebration concert, The Clearwater Concert: Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders, where she was photographed with Oscar the Grouch.
