Joan Jett (b. 1958) is a rock star, usually classified as punk, as lead singer and guitarist for Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, as well as solo ventures.

In 2016, she appeared in The Muppets episode "A Tail of Two Piggies."

Jett began her rock career with the group The Runaways, from 1975 until the group's breakup in 1979. Jett wrote many of her own songs, notably "Bad Reputation" (used as the theme song for Freaks and Geeks), which appeared on her 1980 solo album. Her new group, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, made their first album in 1981. Jett ventured onto Broadway in the 2001 revival of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, playing Columbia and the usherette. Her occasional acting appearances include guest roles on Highlander and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Jett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

In an interview to promote The Muppets, Janice lists fellow guitarist Joan Jett as a musical influence.[1]
