Joaquin Phoenix (b. 1974) is an Oscar-winning actor who has appeared in Ladder 49 (with John Travolta), Signs (with Mel Gibson), and 8MM (with James Gandolfini).
Gladiator brought Phoenix his first Academy Award nomination, Walk the Line brought him his second for his portrayal of Johnny Cash, and his third was for Joker (his first win) with Robert De Niro.
Phoenix (going by his then screen name Leaf Phoenix) was interviewed by Janice in the Summer 1986 issue of Muppet Magazine to promote his upcoming film, SpaceCamp.
