Joe Staton (b. 1948) is a comic book artist who worked on the short-run Dinosaurs comic book title. A long-time DC Comics artist, he and Mike DeCarlo supplied art for the DC Super Heroes Stamp Album tie-in with the US Postal Service "Celebrate the Century" stamp series. Issue 8 included a two-page story on the creation of Sesame Street.
Staton began his comic book career in the 1970s, first at Charlton Comics and others and then for a few years at Marvel Comics on The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, and Savage Sword of Conan. By 1977, Staton had moved to DC, working on Superboy, Wonder Woman, Metal Men, Green Lantern, and others. He remained at DC, eventually shifting to kid friendly titles like Scooby-Doo, until he took over as artist on the newspaper comic Dick Tracy in 2011 (with his last DC titles being released in 2012). Staton stayed on Tracy until 2021.
