John Alexander is an actor, puppeteer, and gorilla performer. For Creature Shop-effects films, he puppeteered on The Flintstones, supplied gorilla choreography for George of the Jungle, and was the suit performer for Big Al in The Country Bears.
Alexander's simian credits include multiple roles in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes and individual gorillas in Fierce Creatures (with John Cleese), Baby's Day Out, Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Gorillas in the Mist, Fierce Creatures, Mighty Joe Young, and an episode of Jeeves and Wooster. Film puppetry credits include work on Return to Oz (as the Cowardly Lion and a wheeler) and Little Shop of Horrors.
Alexander appeared in both Men in Black and Men in Black II (in the latter, outside of a suit as Jarra) and had small roles in How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Haunted Mansion.
