John Barrowman is a Scottish-born actor and singer. A veteran of musical theater, Barrowman has appeared in numerous stage productions, both on Broadway and in London's West End (including two productions of Anything Goes, in 1989 and 2001 respectively), and has recorded several solo albums.

In 1994, Barrowman interviewed Kermit the Frog on the Saturday morning BBC children's magazine show Live & Kicking.

He also appeared in the film version of The Producers, playing the lead stormtrooper in the "Springtime for Hitler" production number. Animatronic animal effects on The Producers were provided by Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

He has recently appeared on television as Captain Jack Harkness in the 2005 version of Doctor Who and its spin-off, Torchwood. Other television credits include leading roles on the American series Central Park West and Titans, while film work included a singing role in De-Lovely (with Kevin Kline as Cole Porter). Broadway credits include the Stephen Sondheim musical Putting It Together (with Carol Burnett and Bronson Pinchot) and Sunset Blvd.
