John Pizzarelli composed several songs for Sesame Street, including "You Can Do It if Trash Can," "Try and Try," "Sloppy Jalopy," and "Birthday Emotions" (on which he also sang lead vocals).
Pizzarelli is a noted jazz guitarist, singer, songwriter and bandleader, recording over twenty albums of his own, in addition to albums with his father and performers like James Taylor and Rosemary Clooney. His music appears in the soundtracks of the films Forget Paris (1995, with Billy Crystal), The Out-of-Towners (1999, with Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn, and John Cleese), and How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008).
