Josie de Guzman, sometimes credited as Jossie de Guzman, is an actress, primarily on stage, who dubbed Grundgetta in the Spanish versions of the resource videos A is for Asthma and Language to Literacy, recorded in New York City.
De Guzman made her Broadway debut in the 1978 musical Runaways (presenting monologues and songs by runaway children and teens). She played Lidia, wrote or co-wrote select Spanish passages, and served as the English-Spanish translator. Carmelina (with Gonzalo Madurga) followed and then the 1980 revival of West Side Story (as Maria). She played Sarah Brown in the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls (with Nathan Lane) and was also in the musical Nick & Nora. She made TV appearances in the movie of the week The Tenth Month (with Carol Burnett) and episodes of The Cosby Show, Miami Vice, The Guiding Light, Big Brother Jake, and Third Watch. In film, she played Brian Dennehy's research contact Marisa Velez in F/X (with Roscoe Orman) and F/X2.
Later moving from New York, de Guzman has performed extensively at Houston's Alley Theatre, ranging from Shakespeare and Agatha Christie to You Can't Take It With You and Our Town.
