The game is reintroduced with a revised title screen when Big Bird and Ernie decide to switch places.
Ernie halts the game before it can start. He and Rubber Duckie want to seek this time while Big Bird hides. The announcer agrees and introduces "Journey to Big Bird." In searching for Big Bird at the circus, Ernie is thrown off by an acrobatic monkey covered in yellow feathers, and a duck on striped stilts doing animal impressions. He also drops in on the Two-Headed Monster in clown garb (who are happy to finally meet him). Ernie is told to look for something small, and soon after, a miniature car rolls in filled with yellow feathers. He finds it hard to believe Big Bird could fit in there, even as Big Bird audibly complains from inside. Ernie eventually lets Big Bird out, and they sing a special version of their closing song tailored to Big Bird.
