Kal Penn is an actor who starred as Kumar in the Harold & Kumar film series opposite John Cho.
In 2014, he made a brief cameo with Bert in Mashable's online video "A Lovely Sunny Day." He later interviewed Grover on The Daily Show in 2023. That same year, Penn recorded material for Season 54 of Sesame Street, and appeared in a "Coming Together: Word of the Day" video with Grover Knover, TJ, and Ji-Young.
Penn has taught at the University of Pennsylvania in the Cinema Studies Program as a visiting lecturer, and served in The White House under President Barack Obama as Associate Director of Public Engagement. His other acting credits include playing Dr. Lawrence Kutner on House (with Hugh Laurie), appearances on How I Met Your Mother and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the film Superman Returns.
